After the research by Asch (1955), research into conformity was conducted in many countries across the world. Using this research, Smith and Bond conducted a review of conformity studies across these various places and cultures.

Their findings showed a general decline in conformity in USA since original research. Around the world, the highest level of conformity was found among Indians in Fiji at 58%, and lowest among Belgians at 14%.
However, this may say as much about how cultures react to experimentation as how conformist they are. Do Belgians really conform to their peers less than other peoples of the world?
